Business Development Manager

Remote with travel across the UK

Our client is a fast-growing marketplace in the construction sector, transforming how contractors and businesses access equipment and services. By connecting customers directly with suppliers, they deliver speed, efficiency, and cost savings.

With a driven commercial team already in place, they are now looking for a Business Development Manager to help them expand further.

About the role

This is a new business-focused role, perfect for someone who thrives on winning customers and building relationships from scratch. Over time, the role will evolve into a mix of business development and account management as you grow your client base.

The role involves:

  • Prospecting and converting new construction customers in equipment rental and waste management
  • Managing and growing your own pipeline.
  • Being out with customers 3–4 days per week (supported by a £6k car allowance + mileage)
  • Quickly resolving customer challenges (delivery issues, equipment queries, delays) with support from internal ops
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships and taking full ownership of your portfolio
  • Acting entrepreneurially, treating your customer base like your own business

About You

We are looking for dynamic salespeople with industry experience who can hit the ground running. You will be successful here if you are:

·      Experienced in the waste management or construction supply chain

·      Sales-driven, with a proven track record in hunting and closing new business (not just account management)

·      Equipped with a network of customer contacts you can bring with you

·      Resilient, entrepreneurial, and able to work at pace in a growth environment

·      A problem-solver who’s responsive, communicative, and commercially sharp
